Products

We are planning to develop a line of ECOVA MALI products to create an additional income stream for the organization. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these items will directly support ECOVA MALI operations. Some products will be sold within Mali and some will be sold internationally.

Here is a list of some of our ECOVA MALI product ideas.

• Bogolan (traditional Malian mud cloth)
• Indigo cloth
• Fair-Trade Shea butter
• Fair-Trade Malian Medicinal Herbs and Herbal Products
• Hand-Tailored, Fair-Trade Malian clothing
• ECOVA MALI Greeting Cards
• Dried mango and papaya
• Cashew nuts
• Henna
• Fresh fruits and vegetables (in Mali only)
• Fresh meat and fish (in Mali only)

Many products to be sold by ECOVA MALI will be sourced to a large extent from the entrepreneurs, who have participated in ECOVA MALI training sessions and/or our micro-finance program. In this way ECOVA MALI will create new marketing opportunities for rural Malian farmers, who will receive a premium price for their goods. Additionally, some products will come from the gardens, orchards, and livestock produced right at our training site and field office. Through these sales the organization will decrease its reliance on outside funding.
