ZOU & MOCTAR - LA SAUCE
In 2000 Greg Flatt, aka "Moctar Diarra" produced an outstanding collaborative album, entitled "Zou & Moctar - La Sauce" with numerous amazing Malian musicians. Cindy also sang on the album! Several of the songs have become hits in Mali and still receive airplay on Malian radio as well as video play on Malian national television. LA SAUCE is in its final stages of re-mastering and will soon be available for sale. 20% of all proceeds from album sales will directly support ECOVA MALI. Fair Trade Imports
We are also in the process of creating a separate Fair Trade import business that will work in partnership with ECOVA MALI . The business will purchase high-quality Malian handicrafts and value-added agricultural products at a premium price and import them for sale in the United States and worldwide through online sales. Products will be sourced to a large extent from the entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and village associations who have participated in ECOVA MALI projects. The business will donate at least 15% of all net proceeds to ECOVA MALI . In this way, the business will offer new marketing opportunities for rural Malian farmers, who will receive a premium price for their goods. This partnership will also create an income stream for ECOVA MALI , which will decrease the need for outside funding.
